What is Hypnosis?
As adults, we believe that we have a set of behavior skills that come from things like Logic, Reasoning, and Will Power.
Surprisingly, almost 88% of our everyday tasks are performed from the subconscious mind! Getting dressed, brushing our teeth, even, and perhaps unfortunately, driving the car are done without conscious thought. What is most often present is an illusion of belief that we are actually making conscious choices about our bodies and behavior. Studies have shown that, in fact, Logic, Reasoning and Will Power only make up about 12% of our cognitive function! Many times what we choose as adults derives from something we learned or believed in as a child!
Why It Works:
Hypnotherapy works because it is an invitation to the Subconscious mind to engage in a dialog process for the purpose of enabling the practitioner to bring the decision process to the conscious mind. A toolset evolves to assist the individual in the healing process and in ensuring conscious choice and positive changes.
It is important to note that the subconscious WILL NOT enter into a dialog or accept any suggestions to the detriment of its’ own highest benefit! All Hypnosis is essentially self-hypnosis.
Hypnosis As A Partnership With The Medical Community:
We often find ourselves at a crossroads where what has worked before is not working now and what we want to pursue or incorporate into our lives is not entirely complete. Hypnotherapy can equip us with a toolset that can bring revolutionary change in our lives.
Western medicine has made great strides in this most recent 20 years and still there is an apparent necessity to meld historic beliefs, family traditions and personal choices with the medical practice to achieve the greatest benefit in healing the individual. Hypnotherapy is contributing to a fundamental change in integrative medical practice for the 21st century!
Hypnotherapy provides the Medical Community a wider variety of treatment options, in some cases eliminating the need for frequent or multiple pharmaceutical management.
Integrative practice gives us all the freedom to provide a higher standard of General Health and Well-Being, with the potential to reduce costs to insurance companies and clients.
